Apparently things are not looking good for the "Twin Peaks" revival that Showtime was planning for 2016. After rumours started swirling around that negotiations were not going as swell as hoped between the network and David Lynch, the co-creator and director has confirmed in a letter to the Twin Peaks festival fan page that he will not be returning as director.
The letter reads:
“Dear Facebook Friends, David wanted me to pass along the following statement:Some sources even say that Showtime has pulled the plug on the show entirely and cast members have already been informed. However the only official confirmation at the moment is that Lynch is apparently done with the project.
Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks.
After one year and four months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.
This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing.
Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime.
I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.”
