Courteney Cox & David Arquette confirm split

Sadly, the rumours were true. After 11 years of marriage (a record, as far as Hollywood couples go), stars Courteney Cox and David Arquette have confirmed their separation through the following statement:

“We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together. We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well. David Arquette and Courteney Cox”

Shocking isn't it? Specially considering that the couple have just completed filming on "Scream 4", a sequel to the project that first brought them together back on 1996, when they met on the set of the first installment of the franchise.

Looking at the bright side, paying close attention to their statement and, according to sources close to the couple, it seems as if they are leaving the door open for a reconciliation in the future. Lets hope they can resolve whatever issues they have during this period of separation in order to see a positive resolution of the story.

Wouldn't it be nice if they prooved to us that happy endings not only happen in the movies?

  1. I wonder weather working together again on the Scream set is what made their minds up? Living and working together is never good. Time apart may just be what they need. I have hope for these two.

By the way. I have tried to e-mail you, you have been nominated for best newcomer award by some of our readers. If you want to be registered with the contest just e-mail Christian James at themovie411@live.co.uk

  2. I thought the same thing too, Dempsey. Maybe seeing each other both on the set and at home may have influenced negatively on the marriage. I just hope this doesn't mean we won't have them in the next "Scream" movies (if their characters survive).

Thanks for the email, I was very happy to find out about my nomination. I will take it into consideration and let you know. ;)
